The Beauty Of Impermanence
The petals fall before we learn their names
Yet the garden never grieves,
For it’s familiar with the cycle of life and death
A tapestry of the inevitable, it weaves.
The stars etched in the ebony horizon
Disappear and dissolve in Eos’ glow,
As the dawn still holds it abreast
With ephemerality, never its foe.
The last few granules of sand
Slip through the neck of the hourglass,
The
Hope
It ate her up from the inside,
slowly, carefully tearing apart her organs
the cancer left no mercy behind
And yet there remained hope.
She wearily eyed the wisps of fallen hair
The element of her identity slowly fades away
She despised and hated and loathed her new self
And yet there remained hope.
She raised a trembling hand to her bony frame
The instinct to fight back disappearing into the darkness,
